According to a 2017 survey conducted by the National Retail Federation, the types of gifts that get top billing include: Candy, 49.7%; Greeting cards, 46.9%, An evening out, 36.6%; Flowers, 34.7%; Jewelry, 18.7%; Clothing, 18.5%; and Gift Cards at 15.8%. Gaining in popularity is the "gift of experience," which may include a massage, concert or sporting event tickets, a gym membership, or a romantic getaway.
